The hutch itself can be removed. There are small brackets on the back of the bottom of the hutch that screw into any place along the back of the top of the dresser for safety and security. The hutch is a lovely addition and great for displaying collectibles, books or photographs. The dresser comes with the hutch and we are not separating the items for sale. Also for sale are the matching twin bed with a twin trundle bed ($475); pedestal desk with desk chair ($300).
