Seller's Notes:I am a composer and when I needed a really big table to work on, to fit scores, music equipment and space for a collaborator to work too when they came over, I looked forever for a really good, sturdy, beautiful table. I wanted one that was 11 feet wide to fit the room I worked in, and there just weren't any that could hold the weight of my equipment or that weren't made of a really fragile material, or was distressed to the point that working on them would be impossible. In the end I ended up having a table built by a carpenter. He found these huge pieces of really gorgeous wood. I asked him to not put a lacquer on it, but to instead let the wood just be the way it was, with chopping block conditioner as the only thing to protect the wood. I liked the idea of having it age a little and to not feel that it would need to be pristine. He built the perfect table. It's really beautiful, it's super strong and sturdy and it's heaven to work on. It has a few marks now as you can see, but nothing major. It's still really gorgeous, and those few marks can easily be sanded off, and the table can very easily be treated or finished as you prefer. I wish I could take this table with me now that I'm moving, but it's too big for my new workspace. I hope it finds a wonderful new home and a lucky new owner.
