Design Within Reach Fortuny Lamp
Product details
Seller's Notes:“It is not the quantity, but the quality of light, that makes things visible,” said Spanish designer Mariano Fortuny. Trained as a painter, he was also an accomplished and innovative couturier, architect, inventor, set designer and lighting technician. The Delphos gown he designed in 1907 continues to shape women’s fashion today, and the textiles company he founded in 1921 is still going strong. His patented cyclorama dome made it possible to change stage lighting instantly from bright sky to faint dusk, and his reflector lamp works on the same principle. A product of his lighting expertise, the height-adjustable Fortuny Lamp (1907) lets you direct light as desired with its sizable rotating shade. This imposing piece works to striking effect in large spaces such as restaurants, reception rooms and open-plan living areas. Dimmer switch on cord affords easy on-off access. Bulb (included): dimmable incandescent 500W/120V/E40. Made in Italy. Dimensions H 75"–94.5" W 37" D 32.5" Fabric Cotton shade; steel frame.
