The daybed frame was made by Urbangreen NYC, and accomodates a twin size mattress. The 28" high end panels of the bed are satin black painted eco-MDF (medium density wood particle fiberboard), the 3" side rails are satin black painted solid maple hardwood, and the 3/4" perforated mattress platform is made from laminated maple plywood, sealed but left its natural wood color, as can be seen in the front view photos because my own mattress isn't properly squared off (latex layers). Clearance between the bottom of the bed siderails and the floor is 7 3/4". For extra support for when the bed is used as a sofa with more than one person on it, there is a leg at the center of the mattress platform (unseen when looking at the bed), and an (again unseen) panel underneath the mattress platform at the back that runs the length of the bed. It should also be noted that, as indicated on the construction plan, there are notches at the back of the bed end panels that allow the daybed to clear floor molding and sit flush against a wall so that the back sofa bolsters can also sit flush against a wall with no gaps. The contemporary styled bolsters, made by Brooklyn Foam Center, are constructed of dense firm foam and built to last. Designed to make a true sofa depth sitting area out of a 38" wide twin bed, the bolsters measure 16 1/2" deep at the bottom and angle back to 13" deep at the top. Their height at the front is 13 1/4" while at the back they run to 11 1/4", creating a stylish modern look (see profile picture). Zippers run the length of the bolsters and the covers, made of upholstery weight linen textured polyester blend, can be removed for dry cleaning. The mattress cover, which accomodates a 10 - 11 inch mattress, is constructed like a fitted sheet and is also removable for cleaning. But again, please note that no mattress is included in this listing, only the daybed frame, the bolsters and the mattress cover.
