Seller's Notes:I bought this bookshelf ten years ago from its original owners, who custom ordered it from Fenton MacLaren, a local furniture-maker in Berkeley, CA. It is one of the last pieces FM made with California redwood, which they now no longer use for environmental reasons. The shelf is extremely solid, with solid wood sides and shelves; the back is plywood with redwood veneer. There are only two minor blemishes, inside the back of top shelf, where it was drilled to a wall bracket (Bay Area earthquake fears!). This shelf is truly heirloom-quality and I thought I would have it forever, but I am moving and it won't fit into my new place.
