The color of the wood is deep cherry. It is a very well made sturdy piece of furniture. No missing parts and very few blemishes.
I have taken very good care of the bed. The one or two small blemishes along the side rails can be hidden with a cherry color wood marker you can get at any hardwood store.
The only reason I am selling my bed is that I recently moved to a smaller house and it is too big for my small bedroom.
