The fabric is 63% Polyester / 37% Acrylic blend, and the cushions can be zipped off for easy washing. The couch's low-profile and plush cushions give it a sleek but playful look. So, so comfortable to laze on-- which is probably why it's on backorder! Please do keep in mind that the couch is very large (102 inches wide) so I recommend that you check the dimensions / angles of your hallway, doorframe, and living space to ensure it will fit. The woman from whom I bought the couch hired a couch doctor to disassemble and reassemble the couch when I purchased it from her, but I was able to remove it from my last apartment no problem. The cushions are removable and the base itself is light enough for two moderately in-shape people to carry. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
