Seller's Notes:Original Bassett “Palerno” Mid-Century Modern dining set from the 1960s, in our family since it was first purchased. This table was the primary dining table for decades — hosting everyday meals, holidays, and major family gatherings — and reflects that history in both design and condition. The table features a drop-leaf design with three original 12" leaves, allowing it to adapt from an intimate two-person table to a full-length entertaining table. Table configurations: • 29" × 42" with both sides folded down (seats 2) • Expands incrementally with leaves • Fully extended to approximately 98" with all three leaves installed The set includes six matching chairs, including 2 armchairs that saw regular daily use over many years. Also included are vintage folding tabletop protective pads, believed to have been purchased at the same time as the table. These pads cover the table up to 88" (two leaves installed) and have been used for protection during family gatherings for as long as we can remember.
