Antique Secretary Desk
Product details
Seller's Notes:This was purchased at an antique store in Ohio in 2006. It's moved around a lot with me, but now it's officially too big for my NYC apartment. When purchased, the seller told me it was built in roughly 1890-1900. The desk is solid mahogany, and still has the little mail slots in the top. The drawers all work. When unfolded, the total depth is 33 inches. When closed, it's closer to 24 inches. If you don't use this as a desk, I think it could make a super cute bar area/conversation piece in a living room. Antique early 20th century Chippendale style secretary or writing desk made by Charak furniture company in Boston. Made of mahogany featuring serpentine form with drop front writing surface that opens to multiple drawers and cubbies, over four oxbow drawers that are mounted with classic brass batwing pulls. The case is supported by ball and claw feet.
