Seller's Notes:This piece is the right height for a night stand featuring a small drawer, an open cubby, and a small cabinet at the bottom. The cabinet is lined in porcelain (there is a pice missing out of one corner which happens a lot with this type of piece) because it was built as a chamber pot cabinet... the same lining that deterred smells of a chamber pot makes it a good place to stash anything that, well, smells and should be quiet. The door has a basket of flowers carved into it. Note that the marble top is detachable and has a couple of dark marks from some encounter in this piece's long life. The body of the piece is made out of oak. When purchased in the 1990's I was told it was already 100 years old, but there are no identifying marks that I have found on the piece.
