Seller's Notes:Antique oak metamorphic step stool, a clever piece of Victorian or Edwardian ingenuity that folds flat as a small table or side stand and unfolds into a set of two steps for reaching high shelves. The treads are finished in a tortoiseshell-pattern oilcloth or vinyl with decorative brass tack trim; the shaped skirt and turned rail supports add real character. Solid wood frame, folding mechanism moves smoothly; shows honest wear on the tread surfaces consistent with age and use, including some scuffing and minor separation at a few tack points.
