Antique French Provincial Giltwood Chair
Product details
Seller's Notes: This chair belonged to my Grandmother, who had it in her home in Chicago after she arrived from Sweden. It is gilt/wood with handmade needlepoint on the back and seat. The needlpoint is connected via hobnails, all of which are firmly intact. My mother had it renovated in 1962, at which time cotton was added to the seat. There is a label on the underside which confirms this. All the springs in the seat are intact (my mother wouldn't let anyone sit on it!). The seat height is 16 inches. It's a beautiful piece of artistry, and it is in excellent shape for it's age, but I can't take it with me to my new home. Last chance: Estate sale soon.
