Antique English Lap Desk with Stand
Product details
Seller's Notes:This antique English lap desk is from the 19th Century, sometime around 1860. It was purchased in 1990 from Kentshire Galleries, which at the time was located within Bergdorf Goodmans in NYC. The boxes exterior is made of Coromandel wood, which originated from India and SE Asia, but is now virtually extinct. The box is bound with an inlayed brass design. It also has a J. Bramah lock, that at the time was one of the world's most secure lock brands. These boxes usually sell for anywhere from $2-4K. This desk is quite solid, and has a stand, but could also use a little TLC, and is priced accordingly.
