Seller's Notes:These chairs were purchased through Frederick A. Hatfield Antiques in Sheffield MA for $2205 in 1988. They were hand-crafted by Fred Hill, Windsor Chair Maker, and their date of construction is from around 1988. They have been in fairly heavy as dining room chairs since then. They have 100% traditional wood-peg construction, with no nails or screws. Summarizing the 6 chairs: (1) The best chair overall, with no loose struts and no breaks. (2) Some loose struts. (3) One significant break in the right arm. (4) 1 loose strut plus two legs pushing up through the seat. (5) Some loose struts. (6) Loose struts on the left arm and left rear leg. The photos show chair #1 from all directions, and each of the other 5 chairs in a front view plus views showing the loose struts and breaks. Application of wood glue/epoxy and a few finishing nails would restore them to good condition. The entire set of 6 should be regarded as a "fixer-upper special" and they are priced accordingly.
