Seller's Notes:1970s French Provincial Cream & Gold Leaf Floating Barrel Armchair - Original Factory Plastic For sale is an authentic, mid-to-late 1970s French Provincial style tufted parlor armchair. Built with a verified solid carved hardwood frame (not a plastic or polymer resin reproduction), the wood of the barrel style frame is finished in a classic matte cream paint, heavily detailed with stunning, front-facing gold leaf accents across the floral carvings that shimmer beautifully in the light. The piece is fully upholstered featuring a premium, entirely enclosed tight-back wrapped in the exact same ornate, multi-colored tone-on-tone and embossed damask/brocade fabric (lime green, silver, gold, and cream thread) as the front and cushions. This high-end tailoring allows the chair to float beautifully in the center of an estate room. To preserve the delicate textile, the chair has been kept under its original vintage YKK zip-up plastic cover from the manufacturer since purchase. Manufacturer is currently unknown, but is likely to be Columbia Manufacturing Co. or Weiman Preview Furniture. Condition Details: Features minor surface scuffs on the flat, cream-painted top wood trim at the very back from wall contact, and very tiny spot-scuffs around the legs and front of the arms, easily treatable with a dab of matte cream paint. The embossed fabric is in perfect condition. The factory plastic covers are fully present. The original gold leaf is completely intact. A gorgeous, high-end Hollywood Regency style time-capsule barrel armchair. Perfect for vintage collectors, designers, or boutique spaces. Available and listed separately is a 3-cushion sofa that was originally purchased together with this chair as a matching set and have been together their entire life.
