Seller's Notes:Iconic Mid-Century Modern molded metal x-base LAX fiberglass arm shell chair designed by Charles Eames for Herman Miller in a coral red. In original condition. Missing label and metal leg ends. Charles and Ray Eames designed the molded fiberglass chair in 1948 for the International Competition of Low-Cost Furniture Design held by the Museum of Modern Art. Production began in 1950 by Zenith Plastics for Herman Miller and the chairs were offered for sale that year. That same year the Museum of Modern Art placed it in its permanent collection. An incredible piece of history!
