In Asian culture, the white peony is the "King of Flowers," symbolizing prosperity, honor, and feminine beauty. • Form: follow a baluster or "ginger jar" silhouette, tapering at the neck and widening at the shoulders. • Hardware: are mounted on turned metal bases (likely brass or bronze-finished) and feature a standard brass harp to hold a lampshade. The top "cap" or lid is also metal, which was a common feature for lamps converted from vases or manufactured in this specific "urn" style. • Material: Glazed white porcelain with a soft, satin finish.
