Seller's Notes: Originating from Morocco in 1950, this vintage mid-century Moroccan rug features a distinct transitional field design in uncommon colourways. Hand knotted in high quality wool, the weaver’s choice to employ more rustic pink, brown, and blue colourways in mixed pile height is an interesting departure from typical Moroccan pieces with uniform texture, though the one-sided rainbow fringes distinguishes this piece among a select few of its kind. Complementary to this marriage of textures is the checkerboard-like brown and pink pattern, which may represent a transitional take on barley imagery, signifying fertility and accented by the gentle, domestic hues.
