Vintage Armoire with Antique Indian Haveli Doors

Product details

Seller's Notes:Solid wood statement armoire purchased in the late 1990s from an estate importer in Los Angeles. The piece was manufactured in India utilizing a pair of authentic, repurposed antique Indian courtyard doors. It is constructed from exceptionally heavy, dense solid Indian hardwood that displays the high density and rich oxidation typical of premium seasoned Sheesham wood. Hand Carved Door Panels: Features six individual, deep-relief hand carved Mandala medallions. True to authentic artisan heritage, each of the six carvings features completely unique architectural motifs, richly adorned with traditional domed antique brass studs. Hardware: Features traditional hand-forged brass studs, iron ring pulls, and a central metal door latch. Interior Storage: Three fixed solid wood shelves creating four large storage compartments. Condition: The inner door panels and areas along the outer sides show natural weathering and oxidation, spotting on areas of the finish. A natural feature of the reclaimed antique wood. Mechanical Note: The small latch at the top of the left door is loose in order to bypass the brass stud. It can easily be hammered back in.
