Seller's Notes:This substantial dining table has been the heart center of our Tribeca loft for the last 18 years. It was custom made for our space by furniture maker and sculptor Stephen Whisler and is an extraordinary piece of craftsmanship. Its generous proportions were optimized for dinner parties and extended family dinners for 10 as shown or for 14 with the extension of two matching 16.5” leaves. The thick top is a dark cerused oak with a beautiful grain and the curved supports are clad in steel. We are so sad it won’t fit our new downsized empty nester space as it is full of happy memories of the joyful gatherings it hosted and will last a lifetime. The two places it is showing a little wear and could use a bit of TLC is some spots on the top where the varnish has worn and the corner edges of the metal cladding of the supports which need some glue. Red chairs shown are listed separately but work perfectly with the table. You can tell by the listing price we are more interested in the karma than the $$ and really want it to find a good home to continue its tradition of amazing gatherings.
