Seller's Notes: This is an exceptionally beautiful impressionist landscape painting (oil on canvas). It is beautifully painted in the style of the great 19th century impressionists very much after Monet. The painting features a woman, walking in a field as she walks through the beautiful, colorful flowers. The images are well painted and there is considerable impasto and pointillist techniques. It is beautifully framed in a heavy giltwood gallery frame that is original to the piece. No loss of paint. No holes or tears in the canvas, no repairs. The frame is in good condition as well with minor scratches. This piece is signed in the lower left "LiCausi" (and on the back of the canvas as well) - this is the signature of Rino LiCausi, a listed artist who was born in Sicily in 1943 and moved to the U.S in 1969 and today lives in Greenwich Village in NYC. He is a prolific painter and has been exhibited in galleries all over the world. LiCausi is also a sculptor, a poet and musician as well. He has significant installations of his large sculptures in Sicily. LiCausi has his own website (www.rinolicausi.com) that shows numerous examples of his work -- and shows his changing styles over the years. His work today is quite modern so we assume this impressionistic landscape was an earlier work. LiCausi's paintings command impressive prices in the galleries who exhibit his work.
