Red Horse & Rider Ginger Jar (Pair)
Seller's Notes: Inspired by the Tang Dynasty horse, this pattern came out in the ‘80s after China’s Reform & opening when the U.S. became intrigued by China’s rich culture. This horse and rider pattern debuted at a Bloomingdale’s exhibit right after Nixon’s notable trip to China. As China’s ‘coming out’ to the U.S. — the exhibit included 5 floors of China’s specialty products including porcelain, silk, and wooden furniture. This pattern captures the moment when the sleeping tiger was awakening to the world. This ginger jar can be used as a vase for flowers, a decorative piece or a vessel for dried goods or tea. Dimensions: 8” x 8” x 8” Care: Handwash only.
