Portrait of a Balinese Woman
Product details
Seller's Notes:Captivating oil-on-canvas portrait of a Balinese woman painted in rich earth tones. The artist was likely a student of the Pita Maha Artist Cooperative, found in part by Rudolf Bonnet. The realist style is closely aligned with Bonnet's portraits and precedes the portrait art of Dullah by a decade. The beautiful Alvizia wood frame has an ornately carved molding with a classic Asian gilding-over-red finish on the inner lip. Purchased in Indonesia in 1962. The painting is in excellent condition.
