Seller's Notes: I love this piece, but I'm going for a more modern look at the moment. It's a faithful replica of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's 1918 Sideboard Chest Desk. The chest is solid ash wood with pearl drawer pulls. The piece originally had a tall top that sat atop the base with additional cubbies and a stained glass window, which I removed and discarded years back so I could use the chest as a console (you can see the original on the Palazzetti link). The top is scratched and worn near the back on the left side. Additionally, there are four small holes (intentional but discreet) and a long narrow rim on the top, all used to support the original top (you can see them in the close-up photo). The three bottom cupboards originally could be locked, but the keys are long gone, and one of the locks is broken.
