Framed Chinese Silk Tapesty

Seller's Notes: This is an exquisite 19th C hand-sewn Chinese tapestry of birds and flowers. Colors are pleasing and soothing, a champagne silk background. Beautiful gold frame. A show-stopper of a piece. The workmanship and detail of the stitching is remarkable. An appraiser put it around 1870. It does have two areas of damage, shown in the photographs. The damage is not as visible as one might think, because the fabric behind the silk is close to the same beige color. The silk background is fragile and there are a couple of other tiny spots where there are "cracks".
