Seller's Notes: Purchased at the Christie's auction of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt heirlooms, February 14-15, 2001. From the auction catalog: A German neoclassic brass-mounted mahogany, fruitwood, and parquetry games table. Late 18th/early 19th century The hinged rectangular top with brass-mounted front and rear edges, centered by a fruitwood star, the front apron pulling forward to reveal a compartment and supporting the banded green felt-lined flip top, with a plain apron on collared tapering tuned legs with short topie feet, the front legs in beechwood, with a printed label De Orange stamped faintly in black ink. 27” High 32” Wide 15-1/2” Deep closed Charming card table, which reveals an inlay wood top design in the shape of a star when closed. A felt-top gaming table when open, it is a beautiful console or end table when closed. Please ask any questions. Thank you.
