Seller's Notes:A handsome and well-made antique kneehole pedestal desk in the Queen Anne revival style, produced in the 20th century. The piece presents the full formal vocabulary of the style with quality and care: richly figured burl walnut veneer drawer fronts, original cast brass bail pull hardware with lovely aged patina, a shaped scalloped skirt, and well-turned bun feet. A fitted glass top protects the work surface. This is a desk of genuine antique character and substantial decorative presence. The case follows the classic kneehole format — two banks of three drawers flanking a central opening, with a full-width frieze drawer at the top. Every drawer front is veneered in burl walnut, its swirling figuring providing strong visual interest across the face of the piece. The brass bail pulls are period-appropriate and original. The scalloped skirt below the kneehole and the paneled back (finished in matching walnut veneer) both indicate quality production designed to be seen from all angles in a room. The bun feet are correctly proportioned and well-turned — a detail that distinguishes quality revival production.
