Seller's Notes:This is a Louis XV style gilt bronze chenet fender. It features mythological griffons protecting a central Roman-style flaming urn. The design incorporates acanthus and other foliate ornamentation in a neoclassical style. The piece is likely a late 19th-century casting by the Charles Casier foundry. It was originally part of a set of fireplace accessories. Total weight about 18 pounds.
