The free water taxi not only trans\u00adports you, but gives you some sol\u00adid cityscape and Stat\u00adue of Lib\u00ader\u00adty views. If you\u2019re not up for an aquat\u00adic adven\u00adture, there are shut\u00adtles and sub\u00adway stops close by as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In New Jer\u00adsey, there\u2019s also a shut\u00adtle and it leaves from Port Author\u00adi\u00adty. Not near\u00adly as excit\u00ading as the water taxi, but it\u2019s also free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Win\u00adner:<\/strong> Brook\u00adlyn. The Brook\u00adlyn loca\u00adtion gets the vic\u00adto\u00adry on this one because its clos\u00ader, the water taxi rocks, and you can make it by sub\u00adway if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Regard\u00adless of which loca\u00adtion you end up at, take a look at the Ikea web\u00adsite before\u00adhand. They update their stock in real time so you can see if the pieces you\u2019re look\u00ading for are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our expe\u00adri\u00adence, the Eliz\u00ada\u00adbeth, NJ Ikea has the most con\u00adsis\u00adtent, in stock selec\u00adtion. Giv\u00aden that Brook\u00adlyn is more con\u00adve\u00adnient loca\u00adtion-wise, it also tends to sell prod\u00aducts faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of size, the Ikea in NJ is much larg\u00ader and more spa\u00adcious than the one in Brook\u00adlyn. You\u2019ll also find it\u2019s less crowd\u00aded, mak\u00ading it eas\u00adi\u00ader to move around the space. If you hate slow walk\u00aders or weav\u00ading around peo\u00adple then head straight to New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re look\u00ading to make a day of it, head to the Brook\u00adlyn loca\u00adtion. It\u2019s on the water and boasts amaz\u00ading views of the city. You can also roam around Red Hook and check out pop\u00adu\u00adlar spots like Brook\u00adlyn Crab, Home\u00adtown BBQ and Red Hook Winery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting Home<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Brook\u00adlyn, after tak\u00ading the ele\u00adva\u00adtor down to the garage, there are taxis that wait out\u00adside to take you home. This option will cost you $60 or so, but if you can swing it the con\u00adve\u00adnience is worth it. You can also take the water taxi back, but you can only bring items that can fit in the blue Ikea shop\u00adpers, mean\u00ading if you pur\u00adchased a lot of large pieces you\u2019re out of luck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although taxis don\u2019t line up for pick\u00adups in New Jer\u00adsey like they do in Brook\u00adlyn, you can still grab a taxi or Uber pret\u00adty eas\u00adi\u00adly. If you live in Mid\u00adtown or high\u00ader, this is prob\u00ada\u00adbly going to be the more afford\u00adable option for you. Anoth\u00ader option is same day deliv\u00adery for $39, because lug\u00adging your fur\u00adni\u00adture home is no fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Win\u00adner:<\/strong> Brook\u00adlyn. It\u2019s clos\u00ader for NYC res\u00adi\u00addents, which means quick\u00ader and cheap\u00ader to make your way home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Giv\u00aden all the fac\u00adtors that come with each loca\u00adtion, it\u2019s easy to see why the Ikea you choose makes a dif\u00adfer\u00adence.
